Why Flying Private is Safer
In 2020, flying commercial and maintaining proper social distance are mutually exclusive. Commercial flights mean putting your family, friends, and self at risk. With UberJets’ private aviation opportunities, we eliminate these issues. Although flying private is more expensive than commercial flights, the health advantages are invaluable.
Private jets use smaller, more exclusive terminals(FBOs) with significantly less traffic. At most FBOs, you are not made to go through the same security process as flying commercially, and far fewer people will touch your belongings; a common practice at many FBOs is boarding and departure as soon as possible. Instead of interacting with strangers at the airport and on the plane; the only passengers you won’t know are the health-conscious flight crew. While risk can never be eliminated in the age of Coronavirus, flying private has markedly less risk than commercial.
Many private jet companies allow travelers to be dropped off straight to the aircraft without going into the terminal. Many clients take advantage of that one. As an UberJets member, we provide you with free car service, an aircraft that is cleaned before every flight, and the stress-free private aviation experience. In short, the UberJets experience is the safest travel option. Fly safe, fly UberJets!
Private Jet Travel During COVID-19
As today’s Pandemic is still affecting our day to day life and the way we travel there is no better time to look into flying private with UberJets. People all over the world are canceling plans to travel on commercial airlines to escape the risk of COVID-19. If you are thinking of a way to travel without being shoulder to shoulder with other people who may be carrying the virus, private aviation is the answer.
Commercial airlines are plummeting due to the pandemic, causing a surge in the private jet industry. More new private flyers than ever before are now traveling with a diminished risk of COVID-19. The people now choosing to fly private are not just the elite, they are everyday people that are just simply changing the way that they travel.
Not only is flying on a private jet safer than flying commercially, but it is also more efficient due to the lack of layovers and more direct flights, decreasing exposure to new places that could expose you to the virus. Marco Fossati has rethought the way he is traveling due to COVID-19, and private aviation has become his solution, “Marco Fossati, a member of the multibillion-dollar family that owns Star, the Italian food conglomerate, said he had little need to fly privately since he became less active in the family business. But the coronavirus caused him to rethink his plans.”. This is a very smart decision that many people are following because who knows when flying commercially will be safe again with the pandemic hanging over us.

Cessna Citation Excel
The Cessna Citation Excel is a popular midsize private jet part of the Citation family. Cessna saw a market for a jet with the Citation X’s features but serves the more traditional market, which manufacturers then developed into the first Excel.
The Citation Excel was a combination of both technology and design from other models in the Citation family. They took the wide, stand up cabin from the Citation X, then used the supercritical airfoil to reduce drag from the Citation Ultra, then added the same tail as the Citation V. The Excel consists of all the best parts of all the other aircraft in the family, and has the roomiest cabin of any aircraft in its class, seating a max of 9 passengers. What makes the Excel so popular is that it has all the specs of a mid-size jet, but can travel at a light jet cost. The aircraft also only needs a runway of 3,590ft to take off, which is the shortest take-off distance of any other mid-size jet. The Pratt & Whitney dual engines make it out-perform all over aircraft in its class with exceptional speed, low drag, and a very quiet cabin. Overall, the Citation Excel is an aircraft that can be used for any mission, out of any airport, using any runway. It is another great private jet option in the Cessna Citation Family.
Popular routes with UberJets members using the Citation Excel include: Northeast to and from Florida, Los Angeles to and from Aspen, Los Angeles to and from Jackson Hole. *Due to the range of the Citation Excel, cross country trips require a fuel stop.

NBAA heads to congress to discuss the shortage of private jet pilots and technicians
There has been a trend in not only the private jet industry but the aviation industry in general. The pilot and technician population is increasing in age while having a shortage of new pilots joining the industry. We are getting to the point where experienced workers are hitting the mandatory retiring age of 65, but this leaves the industry a shortage of workers. NBAA noted to congress that Boeing will need 645,000 new commercial pilots and nearly 100,000 new business aircraft pilots worldwide over the next 20 years, and that is just one company. There is a projected worldwide demand for almost 770,000 new aviation technicians over the next 20 years. Private jet pilots and technicians needs to be in demand.
The supply of pilots has decreased by 30% because the average age of currently employed pilots is 51, and new potential candidates are no longer choosing aviation as a career path. This becomes an issue since the aviation industry keeps increasing, particularly private jet travel. There needs to be an increase in these employees to keep the U.S as the leader in air travel. NBAA praised the committee for helping to pass the FAA Reauthorization Act of 2018, which includes several workforce development initiatives, including grant programs to support the education of future aircraft pilots and the recruitment of aviation maintenance technicians.
Private Jet Travel: Why It’s Greener Than You Think
Private jet travel always had a stigma attached to it when it comes to the environment and global warming. Some people believe that private jets cause unnecessary damage to the planet, however, private jet travel is less harmful than what the public believes. Private jets are not the problem, even though it’s popular to blame them.
The private jet industry has been very conscious about going greener. Many companies are converting to more sustainable fuel alternatives and carbon offset programs. In fact, according to NBAA, The whole industry had a 50% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions since 2005. People also overlook and down-play the environmental effect of mass tourism and large commercial flights. For example, a six-hour round trip on a commercial airliner emits 149 tonnes of CO2. Comparably, the same rough trip flight on a Citation X emits 12.5 tonnes of CO2. The commercial airliner has over ten times the amount of carbon emission than the private jet. Also, private jet travel is more efficient, meaning less wait time ground and delays, cutting on the ground emissions tremendously.
The general public’s bashing of private jet travel is more fun than factual. Studies have shown that private jets do not have as much of a harmful effect on the environment as people believe. The entire industry is very mindful of their carbon footprint and is always searching for “greener” alternatives. The commercial airline industry should be scrutinized as well since commercial aircraft emit over ten times the amount of carbon emissions than a private jet. Unfortunately, people care more about headlines and drama than facts.
